The Polycold P
Cryocooler cryopumps water vapor and prevents back-streaming of vacuum-pump fluids. The
Model P Cryocooler is also effective for cryosurfaces in load-lock systems where fast
temperature cycling is not required.
General Specifications
- -100 to 155°C
- Continuous Cool
- Custom tube-type cold element
- Optional solenoid valve to stop cooling
- Heat removal to 1500 watts
- Vacuum system cold trap and baffle cooling, mass spectrometer leak detector cold trap
cooling, cooling or flange mounted cryocoils for turbomolecular pumps
Benefits
- Cryopumps water vapor to the 10-10 torr range
- Protects against oil backstreaming
- Gives a fast payback
- Is easy to install and maintain
- Provides temperatures to -155°C
- Maintain a steady baffle temperature
- Eliminates the cost, inconvenience and risks of liquid nitrogen
How the P works
The P Cryocooler features a patented single compressor refrigeration
process that employs an auto-refrigerating cycle cooling process. It directly cools cold
traps, baffles, or flange mounted cryocoils to as low as
-155°C using a CFC-free refrigerant mixture in a closed loop system. The Cryocooler
requires only power and water utility service.
Applications
The Model P Cryocooler is available in various sizes for your:
- Diffusion Pumps Cryocoolers are compatible with tube trace chevron style designed
and built by Polycold and other manufacturers
- Turbo Pumps Adding a flange-mounted cryocoil above your turbo pump can help speed
pumpdowns and lower water vapor partial pressure. Cool this cryocoil with a cryocooler.
- Foreline Traps Polycold manufactures both cold probes and housing for use as
mechanical pump foreline trap and the trapping of some chemicals. We offer standard
specifications or we can build to your custom requirements. These probes are compatible
with our cryocoolers.
Features (related to Models P-660, P-550)
- Factory-charged with CFC-free refrigerant
- Temperature indicator with differential analog output
- Control module for local manual control
- Remote connector to permit operation with your controller or your manual controls.
(Remote operation requires relays or switches and wiring by end-users.)
- Optional solenoid valve control of refrigerant flow with panel mounted control switch
