Polycold
Service
If you need service
on a Polycold unit, we can provide both repairs/rebuilds at your
facility and ours. While Polycolds can cost $30,000, most all can
be completely rebuilt for under $10,000 with a 12 month warranty
on the rebuild. So you get a like new performing unit for a
fraction of the new price. Rebuilding includes a new compressor
(if necessary), stripping out the foam, leak check and replace.
All consummables are replaced and a new refrigerant charge
installed.
Keep in mind that we
can re-trofit units. We can retrofit an ST Polycold to an HC
Model. We can take older units and turn them into units running
the modern "green" gas that is required in European Union
Countries. Single circuit units can also be changed over to dual
circuit units.
To set up
service contact us for a quotation and return number. Lead time on
rebuilds is usually 2-3 weeks excluding shipping.

Service and Repair
For Polycold Service,
we can provide on-site repair at your
facility or you can send your Polycold to our facility in Santa Rosa,CA.
Service can be provided on an
emergency basis to maximize uptime on you vacuum coating system, vacuum
furnace or other vacuum system. A Service Engineer can respond within 24
hours.
In addition, Schoonover can provide
installation service for all Polycold models.
POLYCOLD low temperature refrigeration systems allow you to increase
productivity and product in your vacuum coating systems. To achieve high vacuum large
amounts of water vapor must be pumped. Typical high vacuum pumps used in coating systems
provide poor water vapor pumping. A "cool solution" is needed in the form of a
water vapor cryopump such as a Polycold. Installation of a Polycold on a diffusion or
turbo pumped vacuum system can reduce pumpdown by 50% or more.
Polycolds are used in many types of vacuum coating processes such as
vacuum metalizing, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Vacuum Sputtering,
E-Beam Evaporation, Vacuum Furnaces, and magnetron sputtering.
