Nor-Cal's construction is designed to minimize entrapments and use machining procedures consistent with UHV practices. "Pulled Ports" eliminate the sharp edges that can entrap contaminants. All stainless steel products are passivated in a light acid solution to remove weld scale and oxide. Components are immersed in a chemical bath before being rinsed in de-ionized water.
