Selection of the Proper Sized Cryotrap
Selecting the proper sized cryotrap and cryocoil
depends on the amount of water vapor to be trapped and the total head
load of the system. The total heat load capacity of the Telemark by
model is denoted by the model number. For example the TVP 1000 can
handle 1000 watts of heat load.
We recommend that the water trapping capacity be
equal to at least 4 times the pumping speed of the high vacuum pump on
the system. The maximum water vapor pumping speed for each model is
shown in the specifications table below.
In determining the heat load of the system,
there are 4 factors that can affect the heat load on the cryotrap.
1) Heat
load of the cryocoil surface area at 35 watts/sq.ft
2)
Length of the refrigerant line. Standard line provides 8 watts/ft of
heat load.
3)Latent
Heat Loads which can be ignored at vacuum pressures below
10-04 torr.
4) Any in-chamber heating
