Leak detection means different things to different people. Technologies that find a large leak will not work at all to find the very tiny leak. Purpose of this site is to provide information and products to give you the user the knowledge of what type of leak detection method works for your application. This site and our technical sales/support assist you in determining the proper leak detector method for your application.

Leak Detection Products
Schoonover Pressure Decay
For Leak Testing Parts to leaks to
1 x 10 -2 atm cc/sec

 Isaac Pressure Decay

Pressure Decay is a good leak detection method for gross leaks in part. Application areas include automotive parts, air conditioning, heat exchangers, medical devices castings and other leak tight devices.

Sensistor Hydrogen Leak Detection
For Leak Testing Parts to leaks to 1 x 10 -6 atm cc/sec

Sensistor 9012                         Sensistor H2000

Sensistor Hydrogen Leak Detectors are for sniffer leak detection applications. The H2000 is for production applications. The Sensistor 9012 is for field applications such as leak checking refrigeration systems, above ground and underground tanks, swimming pools and other devices or systems that need precise leak detection and location of the leak.

Helium Leak Detection
For Leak Testing Parts to leaks to 1 x 10 -9 atm cc/sec

Helium Leak Testing uses mass spectrometer leak detectors to leak check vacuum systems and leak checking parts that require ultimate leak tightness. Helium Charging systems are used to inject helium into the part.

Refrigerant Leak Detection
For Leak Testing Parts to leaks to 1 x 10 -6 atm cc/sec

Refrigerant Leak Detectors are for use in all types of HVAC and Refrigerant Applications. The AMG 12 is designed to find and locate leaks in systems containing most all types of commonly used refrigerants.

Quantifying a Leak-
Method Leak Rate atm cc/sec Time to Form a Visible Bubble in Minutes
Ultra-Sonic 0.01 0.1
Pressure Decay 0.001 0.3
Vacuum Decay 0.001 0.3
Sniffing 0.000001 136
Mass Spectrometer 0.000000001 36,000

The Bubblizer

The Bubblizer demonstrates if you were to put a part to be leak tested under water, how long it would take to see a bubble for various leak rates. Try out the Leak Rate Values in the above chart to see how long you have to wait to see a bubble escape from the leak. To replicate a sniffer test with bubble testing, putting a part under water would only tie up 4 hours of your time to see the first bubble!

To Try the Bubblizer-

1. Click the Bubblizer Picture at left
2. Insert a leak rate number from the chart above
3. Hit Enter (don't click on Go)
4. Watch and wait for bubbles to appear
